''Verticordia staminosa'' is a species of shrub found in Western Australia, describing an infraspecific arrangement of subspecies and varieties. The specific epithet refers to its characteristic stamens, more prominent than other species of ''Verticordia''. The arrangement of the species was separated by Alex George 1991 to a monotypic section of ''Verticordia'' subg. ''Chrysoma'' as ''Verticordia'' sect. ''Synandra''. The placement of associated taxa may be summarised as, :''Verticordia'' :: ''V.'' sect. ''Chrysoma'' :: ''V.'' sect. ''Jugata'' :: ''V.'' sect. ''Unguiculata'' :: ''V.'' sect. ''erecta'' The populations are restricted to granite outcrops, no conservation status is applied to the species, but each is gazetted as occurring at a single or scattered sites. All are nominated to listings as rare and vulnerable to extinction. The type collection for the species was made in 1961, at Wongan Hills by Harry Butler, the authors of the description were George and Charles Austin Gardner in 1963. George's revision names two varieties, based on later collections, the type specimens for ''V. staminosa'' subsp. ''cylindracea'' A.S. George var. ''cylindracea'' (1991) were "gathered near Pingaring" and for ''V. staminosa'' subsp. ''cylindracea'' var. ''cylindracea'' A.S.
